Chuck Berry, the guitar legend, has died at 90 years old. Berry was revolutionary for his time. Considered one of the first rock and roll artists, his sound and skill on the guitar helped to make rock a mainstream music genre. Known for his hit song, Johnny B. Goode, which was made even more famous by being in the film Back to the Future, Berry’s groundbreaking style helped to send him straight to stardom. He amazed audiences with his flawless skill of guitar and his dancing on stage. As one of the first rock stars, Berry sculpted rock and roll, turning it into his own style and making it what it is today. In 1985, he received the Grammy Lifetime Achievement award. A year later, in 1986, he became the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s first inductee. Keith Richard’s has called him the man who started it all, and that’s very true. He will be remembered as a pioneer of music and a revolutionary figure of pop culture.
