Mystery Science Theater 3000

Mystery Science Theater 3000 was a Canadian show in which a man and his robot friends gave funny commentary on bad B-movies. The original series is being brought to Netflix as well as brand new episodes. I just hope that Netflix keeps the show just as good as it used to be. But if the new episodes aren’t great, we’ll still have the original series. Fans of quirky comedy should be excited for this and check out the old episodes as well.

Schindler’s List

Steven Spielberg’s holocaust film is a classic all around. Liam Neeson stars as Oskar Schindler, a man who saves lives by protecting Jewish workers through his factory. It’s a three hour long epic full of emotion and amazing acting. If you enjoy emotional dramas or films that take place during World War II, you’ll love this 1993 classic.

Tropic Thunder

This comedy from Ben Stiller tells the story of a group of actors who are thrust into real combat while filming an action movie in Southeast Asia. With a cast including Robert Downey Jr., Tom Cruise, Jack Black, and more, this film is definitely a highlight of Ben Stiller’s directing career. Anyone who enjoys satire or Ben Stiller comedies will definitely enjoy this film.

The Prestige

Christopher Nolan’s 2006 film about rival magicians has always been a personal favorite of mine. The film tells the story of two rival magicians who compete against each other to make the perfect magic trick. The story seems plain at first, but Nolan’s expert directing helps to make the entire film compelling from beginning to end. Fans of Christopher Nolan films will love The Prestige.
