The looming question is should students be required to take a life skills class? There are many different reasons why students should take a life skills class. It is always very important to know how to do basic things in life. According to a couple of sources it is a great idea to take a life skills class. According to Mrs. Rathgeber “Yes, it is important because the mass majority of students will go down different career paths, but they all need to know these skills.” She also believes that the most important things to learn are “how to cook basic food, do their laundry, and be able to manage money.”

It is always important to know life skills especially if you plan on going to college, or moving out, no one wants to hangout with you if you have a dirty apartment. It seems no one these days knows how to write a check or pay bills. The next generation needs to know how to do these basic things in order to survive. Even students believe they need life skills class. According to Bree Downs she believes students need a life skills class “because it will help them for their future.” She also believes that the most important thing to learn is “financial because as soon as we become an adult we have to start doing things on our own and we have to learn how to do it.” It is definitely safe to say that students should take a life skills class during their highschool career.
