“In death there are no accidents, no coincidences, no mishaps, and no escapes.” Said by Tony Todd as Bludworth in Final Destination.
Final Destination by James Wong. Alex Browning, played by Devon Sawa, saves his classmates and teacher Carter Horton, Tod Waggner, Terry Chaney, Ms. Valerie Lewton, Billy Hitchcock, and Clear Rivers from a deadly flight. Played by the actors Kerr Smith, Chad Donella, Amanda Detmer, Kristen Cloke, Seann William Scott, and Ali Larter.
Alex Browning while boarding a plane for a class field trip gets a premonition of the plane exploding. While he flees, he gets four of his classmates and a teacher off the plane, saving their lives. However, Death has deemed them to die, so it chases after them on a mission to steal their souls. While they try and fight to survive.
A movie with a plot that delivers. Wong captures the story through his filming techniques that create the scene of escaping death. Based on a pitch for X-Files that fell through it was turned into a movie series that grows.
I recommend this if you love spooky movies. It has the twists and turns of any horror movie that makes the next move Death takes a surprise, but you avoid the jumpscares that come with horror. It’s a four out of five stars.
