Emily was a talented actress, known for her ability to involve herself completely in any role she took on. When she was offered the lead role in the new movie “Shadows of Death”,she jumped at the chance. The film promised to be a gripping tale of survival and suspense, set in an isolated mansion with a haunting dark history behind it.
From the first day on set, Emily is surprised by the realism of the production and the scenes she’s seen so far. The mansion was eerie, with creaking floors and shadowy corners that seemed to whisper. Mr. Lee was known for his intense and immersive filmmaking style. As filming started to progress, Sophia began to notice small but strange occurrences. The props would look so realistic, the screams from the other actors seemed genuine, and the fear in their eyes made it almost seem like they weren’t just acting almost like it was real but Emily brushed it off as amazing acting skills and special effects, and her main goal was to stick to her role and perform her best. One evening while filming an intense scene, Emily’s “partner in crime” in the movie Blake, was supposed to be “attacked” by a masked figure. The scene was so hectic, with Blake fighting for his life, something felt off about the situation to Emily. The terror in Blake’s eyes wasn’t acting, it was real. Emily’s heart was racing as soon as she realized that the blood pooling on the floor wasn’t fake.
Panic set in as Emily tried to comprehend what was happening and what she got herself signed into. SHe looked around in panic and distress and saw the crew members standing still, their expressions blank and unresponsive. It was as if someone had put a spell on them. She had to comprehend this wasn’t a movie anymore, it had turned into an actual nightmare. Emily’s instincts kicked in, and she ran. She sprinted through the doors of the mansion, desperately searching for an exit. Once known as a production set up was now known as a trap. Emily found a room to hide in and what she found left her speechless, a room full of monitors, monitoring everyone every move from all over the mansion. She realized Mr. Lee was the mastermind behind this whole ordeal.
Her mind started to race as she was trying to find a way out to escape. She knew she couldn’t trust anyone she saw so she stayed hidden. Every time she saw someone she’d stay quiet and find the closest place to hide. In the monitoring room , Emily found a cell phone, but the cord was cut and there was no service. She would soon realize her phone was in her locker all the way across the mansion. She realized the only way out would be to outsmart Mr. Lee.
Emily remembered a hidden passageway leading outside in the script, a detail of getting out of this nightmare she had overlooked. She made her way to the library very quietly and found a hidden door behind a bookshelf. With shaky hands, she pushed it open and slipped through the small narrow passageway. The sound of footsteps seemed to grow louder and louder. After what seemed like forever walking she saw the door and saw sunlight beaming from under the door. A sigh of relief sank in and Emily knew all she had to do was escape. Emily thought she had a simple and easy way out but as she was going to open the door she realized there’s a lock on the door, but she realized in the script it mentioned a code on the door would be in the main office upstairs. She felt so exhausted but she was determined to get out of there. So Emily went back through the passageway, and before going back through the secret door behind the door, Emily stopped in her tracks because she heard Mr. Lee talking to someone saying that they lost “the girl” talking about Emily, she was so confused by what he meant, but all she was focused on doing was getting that code and leaving and never coming back. She heard Mr. Lee and his men walking away from the library. So she waited about five minutes to make sure everything was okay for her to come out. Emily exited from the bookshelf and made a run up the stairwell that was in front of the library. Emily wasn’t sure where the main office was but all she knew was that it was on the floor above the library.
Emily figured out which room it was and when she walked in. She was stunned by what she was seeing, she saw all the names of the people before her that didn’t make it out. Emily was then really freaked out, she didn’t want her name to be on that list, and she was determined to make that not happen. Emily was confused because she didn’t see anything saying the people’s names on the board died. Emily was convinced that they were somewhere in the mansion. Emily remembers a dungeon chamber in the basement they visited before the production started. Then it hit her, they’re all in there. Emily wanted to get out to go find help and get all of the others out and be reunited with their families. Emily starts looking around and getting in one of the desk drawers and finds a combination on a tiny sheet of paper. She took that and put it in her pocket and ran out of the room back down the stairs to the bookshelf. She ran so fast to the door and put the combination in and prayed it would unlock, and her a click and it popped off.
Emily ran and ran till she found the nearest house. She banged on the door til someone answered, covered in bloody clothes, the family let Emily in their house and called the police. The police arrived about ten minutes later, and took her statement. Then Emily took them back to the mansion. The police called back up, and soon later the big main door to the mansion was busted open, and she saw Mr. Lee ran towards the basement but before he could he was taken into custody, and the police went down into the basement to see if Emily’s theory was right. To their surprise she was correct, there were more than ten people down there. They had been down there for a month or less. The cops took everyone back to the station, to take statements that happened, and all their stories were about the same. Enough evidence was provided to lock Mr. Lee got up for good, and his help men were sentenced with him, even though the same thing happened to them but they just agreed to help him.
