“Remembering The Life of Lee-Lee”
We are here today to celebrate the life of Taliyah Nicole Alexander, also known as Lee-Lee for short. She was very outgoing, irrational, kind, and mean sometimes even then she was still a person you wanted to know everything about her was somewhat interesting. I wouldn’t say she was Beyonce but, she was someone important if she wasn’t y’all wouldn’t be here today to see Lee-Lee.
Her love for Late Grandmother Michelle Owens was something truly special; she always said that her grandmother was her person any chance she could. If not always they were together going thrifting, these two never missed a sale ever and they loved a .99 Sunday at the Goodwill. Lee-Lee still went to all their favorite spots even after Michelle passed because that is something special to her. Lee-Lee could always find something someone once owned and make it something “brand new”.
She loves to dress in men’s clothes. She said they were better quality because they had real pockets that didn’t fit too tight. Also, I don’t know if you guys know she loved Erykah Badu. She took a lot of inspiration for her wardrobe and hair. Her mother thought her clothes looked ridiculous and she would tell her, “Why are you dressed like an old white man?” She didn’t care though she liked it because it made her feel like her. She would always say she didn’t care what others had to say about her but, that wasn’t true she wouldn’t miss the chance to snap at a person she felt like she was being disrespectful to her or others. This habit of hers had come back to bite her a few times.
Lee-Lee could be a total angry bird. Sometimes she had gotten into a lot of fights and bad arguments with friends, family and acquaintances; she was unrecognizable when angry. However, that didn’t make us love her any less. She was like a lemon-drop candy, she could be sour, sweet and bitter all at once you just had to know her to understand. We never knew the reason for her moods in her last couple of months she was all over the place. I believe her mood swings were very funny when she disagreed with a man. If you knew her well you’d know she loved to argue with men because she said it brought joy like no other. She really had a hot or cold personality yet, she could be the life of the party or a reason everyone wanted to go home. I loved her,you loved her so understand that her life was a little different than others but, she left us with happiness and good memories to look back on and laugh at. This was Lee-Lee’s life that we cherish so close in our hearts even though she’s gone now it doesn’t mean she left us forever.
