I looked out my window and saw the rain
Droplets beating against the glass
Sky murky and gray
And the winds howling and shrieking
All of it so serene and tranquil
It soothes my mind and soul
But only for a moment
Then I feel alone once more
I’m trapped in solitude again
While I hope this will pass
I know it’ll be back the next day
Eyes red and tears leaking
Feel like my heart’s strangled
Isolation taking its toll
I lay down and hope for atonement
I wish things were like before
