Amelie Angel Lundberg was born on an average Wednesday, specifically February 21, 2007. Except it wasn’t average, due to the fact that they and their brother were born 3 months before they were supposed to be.
This, however, was where their stubbornness came in clutch, as they fought their way out of the NICU after several hard months to a loud, but caring family. “Amel” was the name that was given to them by their eldest brother, Josh, and it is the name they use now.
Amel grew up on their parents’ farm, exploring and playing with their brothers. They were homeschooled up until the 3rd grade, where they became the weirdest and most socially stunted 3rd grader of the class of 2025.
Amel developed a love for art during middle school, and they built that skill throughout high school, as well. Even though middle school and freshman year were some of the hardest years of their life—AP Human was a b*tch—that same stubbornness pushed them through their depression and anxiety.
Amel found their identity and made their connections through art. Their hard work honing their skills paid off with each shot in the dark. They placed several times in KYAEA, got many works in several curated exhibitions, got into Governor’s School for the Arts, and is MCHS’s National Art Honor Society Exhibition Chair.
Amel didn’t always have pride in their life, but they’ve learned to respect and love themself. Which is exactly why they constantly listen to Arctic Monkeys’s AM, C418’s soundtrack to Minecraft, Billie Eilish’s Happier Than Ever, and many other albums.
