Hunter Powell, The Crimson Chronicle Staff Writer
Hunter Powell is a 16 year old junior from McCracken County High School. Originally from Hardin, Marshall County, he moved to Paducah at the age of 14.
Hunter has a deep-rooted passion for writing. From a young age, he wrote stories and crafted narratives from his favorite pieces of media. Now sixteen, he's taking creative writing so he can be a better writer and to become an author in the future. His favorite genres of literature are science fiction and fantasy with many of his works being in either of the aforementioned genres. His greatest inspirations include Mervyn Peake, Yann Martel, and Erin Morgenstern.
Besides writing, Hunter enjoys music, drawing, baseball, being outside, science, and history. He loves listening to music and discovering new artists. He favorite artists/groups include Frank Sinatra, Benny Goodman, Eminem, Linkin Park, Windows96 among others. Science, particularly astronomy, has always been a love of his. Space and the stars have always captivated him even into his teenage years. History has also been a love of his from younger years. He loves learning about the past and the great figures that moved it forward.
Hunter maintains a balance between being analytical and artistic. This duality allows him to be versatile in his approach to life and academic career.
He also played a part in naming the Crimson Chronicle.
