What I’ve Learned From Being In High School

What Ive Learned From Being In High School

Being in high school has taught me many things, being a McCracken County Mustang has also taught me many things. When I started here as a freshman, I never imagined I would love it here as much as I do, I also never imagined that I would learn as much as I did. Life lessons have been taught here, whether students realize it or not.

One lesson that I have learned is Work Hard, Be Nice. Mr. Ceglinski says this almost every day when signing off the intercom, it’s our motto. He wants us to always work hard, no matter what is thrown our way during the week, and he ALWAYS wants us to be nice to our peers. We never know what is going on in other people’s life so we always need to be nice. This short phrase has defined our school.

Another lesson that many have learned, mostly the juniors and seniors, is that if you’re going to be late to school, you might as well be really late and stop to get breakfast. Many students start coming later and later to school as the year goes on, so they stop to get food. Getting food gets them through the long day.

Another lesson that is grasped by the juniors and seniors is if you have to leave school early, don’t come at all. There is no point in coming for two classes just to leave early, you might as well sleep in. Take as many of these chances as you can get, they won’t come as often as you would like.

One more lesson that I have learned is don’t be afraid to be who you are. Many teenagers are afraid to be who they are in fear of being made fun of. I’ve learned that people are going to criticize you no matter what so you might as well be who you are. Being who you are makes you a brave person who isn’t afraid to show your true colors. Always be who you are, don’t fear the possibility of being made fun of, just be you.
High school has taught me many things, some being life lessons and some just being lessons that will only help in high school. High school is the time to make memories and learn lessons, and I think many seniors have accomplished that goal.
