End of School Boredom

End of School Boredom

Tristan Cates, Messenger Reporter

As the school year comes to a close the population is divided between those who have finals to study for and those who haven’t brought a backpack since April. These two groups go about the final days in very different manners but we are here to help nonetheless. For those who have completed their finals and sit in class trying to find things to pass the time, we have a few recommendations for little games or apps that can help with the inevitable boredom of these long long days. A deck of cards seems to be a necessity for classes where a majority of the class is in the same boat as you. Individual games like solitaire can be played at pretty much anytime and provides a seemingly endless amount of rounds if you are willing to play them. Group games like Kemps or ERS are classic end-of-school time wasters. Kemps requires teams of two to face off against each other but there is no score limit so round up your group of friends and take up as much time as you please. The next game is ERS, this is an intense game of speed and focus. Each player must lay down cards in an attempt to win more back in the long haul. A player is eliminated when they run out of cards so be quick and always on the edge of your seat. Cards games are a great way to take up your post-final classes if you have the option. Another popular method is apps that a larger group of people can play. The most obvious of these is fortnite, you and three friends can squad up and play this immensely popular game. There is no ending to this survival game so the possibilities are endless. Finally, we have the games from way back when, class-wide board games. This category includes games like Pictionary or hangman and can be enjoyed by an entire class. All of these options are sure to help those who find themselves bored because of the post-final classroom environment.
