China V.S the World

China V.S the World

Xi Jinping, a 69-year-old Chinese dictator, is in his third term as China’s supreme leader, and his influence on the world is only growing. As China grows, America faces more dangers. Xi made a dark warning. His plan is to ¨intensify fierce defense of security against all perceived threats¨, says CNN news. China has seemed to enter a struggling period. A fellow American, Ameeria Johnson, states, ¨I know nothing about China, nor do I know who the leader is.” This goes to show regular Americans aren’t aware of outside world issues.

China’s leader is currently taking steps into a new era that is facing a significantly different landscape than his earlier terms. There is an expectation that the ties between the West and China will diminish. CNN news says, ¨An expectation that ties will deteriorate further “is resulting in a China that is far more openly engaged in a systemic rivalry with the West – greater assertiveness, more overtly ideologically hostile positions, more efforts to build counter-coalitions of its own, and a bigger push to shore up China’s position in the developing world,” he said.¨

China has been struggling with its own too. Taiwan has its own sense of government, a self-governing democracy which Xi Jinping isn’t too happy about. Jinping wants to reunify the mainland with Taiwan. Xi wants to be capable of winning a war to seize Taiwan. In an interview with Ms. Johnson, she was asked about her thoughts on china. ¨I don’t agree with their political ways and if I ruled China, things would be very different.¨ She was asked if it is important, for us Americans, to know what’s happening in China, and she states, ¨No, because it has no immediate impact on us until they start war.¨
