Eggselent Catch!

Eggselent Catch!

During a stroll through the town of Luton, England, King Charles iii found that his stroll wasn’t all it cracked up to be. The seventy-four year old royalty walked down the streets, security in tow, when he was pelleted by an egg. His team immediately began to turn him away from the crowd, using their bodies to shield the king away from any further assault attempts. To those following the incident, this seemed all too familiar.

Just a month ago on Wednesday, December 9th, King Charles was reporting for his regular royal duties when he was caught in the midst of an egg-storm in York, England. The assaulter was reported to be Patrick Thelwell, an extinction rebellion activist. Civilians claimed that Thelwell could be heard shouting, “This country was built on the blood of slaves!” during the attack. Patrick is said to have been arrested five times prior to this incident, over multiple crass actions at activism events.  King Charles iii is not the first royalty to have an egg thrown at him, though. In 1986, Queen Elizabeth had an egg thrown at her during protesting of the Maori tribes. The king’s security team have yet to make a statement pertaining to the prevention of egg-hurdling during public outings moving forward
