The Marvelous Little Mermaid

A Movie Review on The Little Mermaid
The Marvelous Little Mermaid

In the movie, The Little Mermaid, directed by John Musker and Ron Clements, the main character Ariel, a mermaid, played by Jodi Benson, feels she does not belong in her underwater home, and one day while she was exploring she saw a man on a ship and fell in love with him. She decided she wanted to get legs to see him again, so she asked the villain to give her legs, but she had to give up her voice. She does and becomes human, but the villain tries to steal him with Ariel’s voice. I love The Little Mermaid. It’s one of my favorite movies of all time. I love the characters, the plot, the songs, and everything about the film. This film has some of the most stunning original songs, that are specific to the movie and were made for the movie.

Under the Sea is my favorite song from this movie, with lyrics like:

“The seaweed is always greenerIn somebody else’s lakeYou dream about going up thereBut that is a big mistakeJust look at the world around youRight here on the ocean floorSuch wonderful things surround youWhat more is you lookin’ for?”

This movie has incredible animation and is full of color. The Little Mermaid also has a captivating plot, with an amazing climax and happy ending. I would recommend this movie to young girls who love princesses, and people who love colorful movies with great songs. I would give this a 4 out of 5-star rating.
