    Following My Dad’s Tire Tracks

Mountain Biking has played a big role in the Rothrock Family, so big that the head coach Derek Rothrock decided to create his own team. Coach Rothrock built a team of really talented riders who turned out to be amazing and have shown their commitment to the team ever since.

While he is following his passion for mountain biking, his daughter wanted to follow in his footsteps. Anya Rothrock (11) is Coach Rothrock’s Daughter. Her dad worked with her until she joined the team last year and loved it she wanted to make more friends and thought it would be a fun idea, but being the coach’s daughter gives her no benefits. She still is working just as hard as the other members. Every day Anya works with her dad for 30 minutes at home after school on training.

Anya and her dad have a very special bond with one another, besides being father and daughter. They have created a special connection with one another from mountain biking, they are with each other all the time to train for competitions.

Coach Rothrock is always trying to inspire and give tips to Anya, she says “My mom and dad are the two people that inspire me the most.”

He is always hyping her up before her race and telling her “Do your best, have fun, I’ll be there with you.”

It helps Anya out when she is riding she just keeps thinking about the encouraging words her dad tells her before every race. Coach Rothrock is A Coach but a Dad first.
