Burn After Reading

The Coen Brothers’ 2008 release tells the story of a group of gym employees who find a disc containing secret CIA information. Brad Pitts has the lead role with John Malkovich and George Clooney also in the cast. This film features the Coen Brothers’ distinctive directorial style. Burn After Reading is perfect for someone looking for a quirky comedy.

Paddington

If you’re looking for a lighter movie, check out Paddington. This family film about a bear surprised me when it came out. I expected it to come and go like most kid’s movies do. But it got surprisingly high reviews. With a 77% on Metacritic and a 98% on Rotten Tomatoes, this movie deserves a watch. I recommend Paddington to anyone who enjoys family movie.

The Jungle Book

The 2016 Jungle Book reboot directed by Jon Favreau took audiences and critics by surprise. Most people expected another bland reboot. Instead, we got an interesting film with spectacular special effects. This film features an all-star cast including Bill Murray, Scarlett Johansson, Idris Elba, Ben Kingsley, and Christopher Walken. Any fan of Disney or other Jon Favreau films will love this movie.

Boyhood

This film, directed by Richard Linklater, took twelve years to film. Depicting the life of a boy named Mason, the cast grew up with the movie, so as their characters age, so do the actors. This film won the Academy Award for best supporting actress and was nominated for best picture. Boyhood remains as the highest rated film of Metacritic with a rare 100%. This film is great for anyone who enjoys coming of age
