Emily Angle is a sixteen-year-old junior. She lives in Paducah, Kentucky, and has her whole life. The same house, the same town, and the same state.
Angle likes to be at home most of the time, and loves the outdoors. She likes to read books in her free time, horror and romance especially; and she likes to bake as well. She likes to make cake pops, cookies, and brownies. Angle has expressed that She doesn’t really like to cook, though, because she hasn’t been able to figure it out. “Anything I’ve tried to cook has not come out very good.”
Angle says that she doesn’t normally look forward to school, but when she meets the right people it becomes fun. “I like school when I’m comfortable around the people, but the first couple of weeks it’s kind of awkward.” Angle is an introvert, she does not like to talk to people she does not know, and she doesn’t like to go anywhere, but if her friends live close she says she doesn’t mind going to their house.
Angle likes to draw, focusing on nature and using the color green a lot, as it is her favorite. “I like art even if I’m not good at it,” she says.
She wants to go to school to be a teacher because her mom never got to be a teacher, and decided to be a nurse instead. Angle wants to go to a school in St. Louis because she loves the city. She wants to teach K-5 because she loves little kids. Helping people is something Angle loves to do. Angle has ADHD and understands the difficulties it causes, so she wants to help kids in elementary who have ADHD so they don’t have to worry in the way she does at school.
Taking an Introduction to Journalism course made Angle hopeful of more journalism opportunities in the future. “I decided to be in this class because I wanted to help make the yearbook and help with the art pages.” When she started this class, she didn’t talk much, but now she talks to all the people she sits with at her table.
Angle likes to wear baggy clothes, sweaters, and sweatpants; her outfits always suit her mood. Most of the time, she comes into class ready and prepared. Most days she wears sweatshirts or crewnecks, with a pair of jeans, leggings, or sweatpants. Another key thing to remember is she does love art, so she loves to wear many colors, and she always comes in with pretty colorful stripes.
Angle likes to watch movies and TV shows, with her favorite show being Vampire Diaries. She finds The Walking Dead interesting, and she likes Hello Kitty. “I have liked Hello Kitty for as long as I can remember.”
Angle is quite a spiritual person. She likes rocks and crystals her favorite crystal is a Carnelian. Angle goes to rock shops when she can. “I love going downtown to the rock shop down there”. She likes to burn sage as well.
Angle has seven siblings, though only one is a biological sibling, and not all of them live with her. Her siblings are, Ariana(23), Ocean(17), Emma(24), Carson(21), Ireland(11), Drake (12), Oliver(10). Being the middle child, Angle sometimes feels overlooked, though she still holds lots of love for her siblings.
Though she has had a job, Angle doesn’t work at the moment. She has worked at two places; Pizza Inn and Tropical Smoothie. “Pizza Inn was kind of fun because of the people there, but I didn’t like the repetitive part of doing the same thing every single day, and the uniforms were not good.” What to wear seems to influence Angle’s opinions. “Tropical smoothie was fun because it was different every day, and we got to wear whatever we wanted, but I did not like how slow it was”. She worked at both places for only a couple of months but hopes to work in retail during her time in college.
Angle does like any type of music, though she mostly listens to indie music. She loves the band The Neighborhood, and their song Sweater Weather. Angle says music helps her write and do journal assignments in her Journalism class.
Angle’s favorite animal is an Elephant. She says she likes their long trunks and large ears. Since she was a little girl, she liked to go to the zoo and see the big animals.
Angle’s friends would describe her as passionate and kind, and her classmates often praise her for how smart she is. Emily Angle is a great friend to have in the classroom.
