Abigail Childers, Staff Writer – The Mustang Messenger
With a bright smile and kind eyes, Abi Childers is one interesting girl to interview. Childers really enjoys her alone time, saying that driving while listening to her favorite music is what helps ease her anxiety. When Childers is stressed out or overwhelmed, she likes to drive while listening to some of her favorite music to clear her head. She says that when things become difficult or too hard to handle, she easily confides and finds comfort in her boyfriend, who she often talks to about the things going on in her life, good or bad.
Childers is very close with her stepmom, and she says that seeing how strong and hardworking she is is what inspires her to be the same way. Childers loves her friends unconditionally, and she says that spending time with her friends brings her a state of peace.
Childers wants to go into business and sales. She says that she’s very good at speaking to other people and having this interview with her proved this to be true. At sixteen years old, Childers is a junior here at McCracken County High School, but the way she carries herself with confidence and determination makes her maturity shine. Childers says that while she isn’t actually interested in journalism and only took the class because it seemed easy, she’s glad that she decided to take it because of its interesting discussions.
Childers’ goals for the year are to maintain her strong GPA and make sure her grades stay stable. It’s her junior year, and she’s doing all she can to walk across that stage next year and make her parents proud.
While Childers doesn’t do any extracurricular activities at school, she does work at Menards, and she’s grateful for the opportunity to learn true responsibility and prepare herself for the real world.
