He started taking writing classes seriously his freshman year after his guidance counselor and his house principal talked him into joining journalism. “My love for reading brought me into writing, and writing helped me express my feelings.”
Besides history, Wring plans to have a minor in communications and to have that as a fallback to use for becoming a radio host.
Wring would often get positive feedback about essays that he would write, which made teachers convince him to join a class like journalism. He usually found joy in writing personal stories and poems. When it comes to journalism and schoolwork. Wring manages the stress of tight deadlines pretty well. When he gets too stressed he either listens to relaxing music or goes for a walk to clear his head before he does the task at hand. Wring loves to listen to music, he usually listens to classic rock and some rap. He also enjoys riding his bike when he gets a chance; Wring finds it calming and thinks that it's nice to get some fresh air.
Kolby’s father, Thomas Wring, is his biggest inspiration. His father helped him get through his hardships, and he helped him with his morals. Wring stated that he is inspired by his dad's work ethic, his selflessness, and how he always tries to be a kind-hearted person overall.
