Delaney Green, The Crimson Chronicle Staff Writer
Delaney first identifies herself as an artist. It makes up a huge portion of her identity. She refers to her ability to feel everything so deeply as a gift. This is what fuels her artwork and writing most.
Connection and vulnerability are two of her greatest focuses in life. She has an admiration for everyone around her and feels that everybody has something deeper to them. Unlike most teenagers Delaney loves school, and connecting with other people is one of her favorite things about it. She expresses how all humans have a unique light to them, and feels everyone in her path deserves to be shown unconditional kindness.
One of her proudest accomplishments is being accepted into the Governor’s School for the Arts in 2024 for visual arts. There she learned a lot about herself as a person, not just an artist. Through GSA, she learned to use her unique world view to express herself and connect with others.
Delaney is also a member of the Journalism Honor Society. In 2024-2045 she served as the Public Relations Chair for McCracken’s Chapter of the National Art Honor Society. She is involved in the art department and theater tech. Her love for both visual arts and writing landed her a love for journalism. She has a knack for all things art, nature, poetry, music, and connection, and tends to enjoy writing about things involving those passions and searching for deeper meanings.
In both her journalistic writing and her personal life, she believes all perspectives hold some amount of truth. She believes there is something to learn from everyone. In all her work, she hopes to highlight what makes others so special so the rest of the world can see it too.
